Official Program Documents & Guidelines

Program Overview

Our sponsorship program is designed to provide educational support to the most vulnerable children across Africa. We work exclusively through local charities and NGOs to identify, verify, and support students who would otherwise have no access to education.

The following sections outline the complete guidelines for our sponsorship program — including who qualifies, how students are selected, the duration of sponsorship, how payments are made and monitored, and how funds are disbursed.

Who Qualifies for Sponsorship

We prioritize the most vulnerable children. Students who qualify for sponsorship include:

  • Children from war zones — those directly affected by armed conflict and displacement.
  • Those living in extreme poverty — families unable to afford even the most basic educational expenses.
  • Children with single parents working low-paying jobs — where the sole caregiver cannot cover school fees.
  • Street kids — we do not personally help them directly, but we can help through a local organisation that works with street children.

How Students Are Selected

Our selection process is built on trust, verification, and accountability through our partner network:

  • Referral by local charity or NGO: A registered local charity or NGO identifies a student in need and reaches out to us.
  • Identity and situation confirmation: We confirm the student's identity, family situation, and educational needs based on the partner's verification.
  • Assumption of genuineness: As much as we confirm the student's identity and problems, we assume the case is genuine based on the referring organisation's verification.
  • Liability for false cases: If the case proves not genuine, the parent organisation that reached out will be liable for the consequences.

Accountability: The referring organisation takes full responsibility for the authenticity of every student they bring to us. This ensures that our resources reach only genuine cases of need.

Sponsorship Duration & Terms

How Long Sponsorship Lasts

Sponsorship covers a specific school stage. When that stage is completed, the sponsorship period ends.

  • Example: If sponsorship is for primary school, it ends when the child completes primary.
  • Continuation: If the child performs well and advances to the next stage, we may continue the sponsorship.
  • Termination by student: Sponsorship terminates if the student fully terminates it themselves.
  • Poor performance: Sponsorship terminates if the student repeatedly performs poorly.

Terms & Conditions of Sponsorship

  • Registration fee: A one-time registration fee is required to add each student to our database — $11 per student for organisations and $20 per student for parents/individuals.
  • Receipt requirement: Full receipts and breakdowns are required for all sponsorship-related spending.
  • Termination for inconsistency: Continuous loss or inconsistency with funds leads to immediate termination of sponsorship.
  • Non-transferable: Sponsorship is specific to the named student and cannot be transferred to another individual.
  • Reporting: Partner organisations and parents must provide regular updates on the student's academic progress and financial use of funds.

How Payments Are Made & Monitored

Registration Fee Payment Process

The $11 or $20 registration fee is normally communicated via our official emails. Once you have been approved for sponsorship, our team will send you detailed payment instructions directly to your email address.

1
Receive Email Instructions

After your application is reviewed and approved, you will receive an email from our team with complete payment details for the registration fee.

2
Make the Payment

Follow the instructions in the email to pay the required amount — $11 per student for organisations or $20 per student for parents/individuals.

3
Receive Your Receipt

Once your payment is received, a receipt will be provided to you via email confirming your contribution. This receipt is your proof of payment and confirms your eligibility to benefit from our organisation.

Receipt Provided: A receipt for the registration fee will be sent to you via email once payment is confirmed. This ensures full transparency and gives you official confirmation of your contribution.
Important: You cannot benefit from our organisation if you have never contributed towards it. The fee is a one-time payment.

Refundable? The $11 or $20 is refundable — but once you receive the funding, the amount can never be refunded.

How Sponsorship Funds Are Disbursed

We ensure that sponsorship funds reach the student in the most appropriate and accountable way, depending on their level of education:

  • University students: Funds are directly given to the student for their own use, with full accountability required.
  • Primary & secondary students: We prefer paying directly to the school or to the parents' accounts. Either way, a breakdown of the amount and how it's spent is required.

This approach ensures that funds are used for their intended educational purpose and that every dollar is accounted for.

Monitoring & Accountability

We require full transparency on how sponsorship funds are used:

  • Full receipts and breakdowns are required for all sponsorship-related spending.
  • Continuous loss or inconsistency with funds leads to immediate termination of sponsorship.
  • Regular reporting: Partner organisations and parents must provide updates on the student's progress and financial use of funds.
  • Audit-ready records: All financial records must be maintained and made available for review upon request.
Our Commitment: We are committed to full transparency and accountability in all our sponsorship programs. Every dollar is tracked, every receipt is verified, and every student's progress is monitored.

Donations & Funding

How Donations Are Made

All donations are made directly through our website using card or crypto payments. This ensures a secure, transparent, and traceable donation process.

  • All donations go through our secure donation portal on the website.
  • We accept Visa, Mastercard, Bitcoin, Ethereum, and 50+ other cryptocurrencies.
  • Every donation is recorded and traceable, ensuring full accountability to our donors.

How We Sustain Our Operations

To cover staff salaries, volunteer support, and operational costs, we bring in approximately 50% more than the required sponsorship amount. From this extra 50%, half (25% of the total extra) is returned to the organisation as a donation to fund our operations, pay our staff, and support those who volunteer for our charity work.

  • The remaining half of the extra 50% is used directly for the sponsored student or returned to the donor/organisation as required.
Important: Donors and organisations require us to release all sponsorship money to the sponsored student. We therefore cannot legally deduct any amount from the sponsorship funds themselves. Our operations are funded entirely by the portion of the extra 50% that is returned to the organisation as a donation — not from the sponsorship funds.

Consequences of Misusing Funds

International Law & Legal Consequences

Misappropriation of charitable funds for personal enrichment is a serious criminal offense under international law and the national laws of most countries. Under the United Nations Convention against Corruption (UNCAC), Article 17 requires all State Parties to criminalize the embezzlement, misappropriation or other diversion of property by persons entrusted with such property in their official capacity, whether for private or third-party benefit.

In practice, individuals who divert charitable donations for personal use face severe consequences, including:

  • Criminal prosecution and imprisonment — courts in multiple jurisdictions have imposed prison sentences ranging from 15 months to 20 years for embezzlement of nonprofit funds.
  • Mandatory restitution — offenders are routinely ordered to repay the full amount misappropriated, plus additional penalties. In Kenya, the Anti-Corruption and Economic Crimes Act imposes a mandatory fine equal to two times the benefit received or loss suffered.
  • Permanent disqualification from charity leadership — regulators such as the UK Charity Commission and the Kenya Public Benefit Organizations Regulatory Authority can remove and permanently bar individuals from serving as trustees or directors of any charitable organization.
  • Organizational deregistration — charities involved in financial misconduct may be removed from the register of charities and forced to cease operations.
  • Personal liability for losses — individuals who misappropriate charitable funds are personally liable to compensate anyone who suffered a loss as a result of their conduct.
Zero Tolerance: Random Humanitarian operates a zero-tolerance policy on financial misconduct. Any individual or organisation found to have misappropriated sponsorship funds will face immediate contract termination, full recovery of misappropriated funds, and referral to law enforcement authorities for criminal prosecution under applicable laws.
